Dawn Marie Besaw Knight

Dawn M. Besaw Knight, 42, of Amsterdam, NY passed away with her family by her side at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a short illness.

Born on August 4, 1970 in Saranac Lake, NY, she was the daughter of Sandy Benway Besaw and the late Ronald Besaw. As a young girl Dawn lived in Long Lake with her family until moving to Scotia where she lived for most of her life.

Dawn worked in the Schuylerville Court System until going to work as Assistant East Court Director for the Saratoga Prevention Council. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Hagaman.

Dawn will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend.

Dawn is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Knight; her mother, Sandy Besaw of Niskayuna; her children, Nicholas and Samantha Knight of Amsterdam; three siblings, Michael Bouvia of Galway; Paula Mackey of Eustis, FL and Ronald Besaw of Altamont Springs, FL; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hagaman, 122 S. Pawling St. Hagaman, NY 12086.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.
