Bryan J. Sheckton, 36, of Amsterdam was granted his angel wings on Friday, February 7, 2014.

A lifelong area resident, Bryan was born in Amsterdam on April 20, 1977 to John and Laurie Tambasco Sheckton.

Bryan was a talented athlete who played football with the Amsterdam Little Giants and baseball and basketball in both the Amsterdam and Broadalbin Perth youth leagues.

He attended Amsterdam and Broadalbin-Perth Schools and Schenectady County Community College with hopes of obtaining his degree in Substance Abuse Counseling.

On August 25, 2012 he married his childhood sweetheart, Allison DiManno Sheckton. He is also survived by his loving parents John and Laurie Sheckton of Broadalbin, the three lights of his life, son Tyler and daughters Adrianna and Alannah; two special step daughters, Kiara and Hailee Alicea; his loving sister Shauna Sitts and her husband Chad. He adored being Uncle Bryan to his niece Natalie Sitts who survives along with his maternal grandfather Ralph Tambasco; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bryan was an energetic soul who lived life to the fullest. He was a proud Dad who loved his children and his family. He was an avid NY Jets fan and considered himself the team's #1 fan. Bryan was loved unconditionally and will be missed by many.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.

Those wishing to remember Bryan in a special way are asked to donate to his children's educational fund which has been set up at NBT Bank of Vail Mills, C/O Shauna Sitts, P.O. Box 668 3711 State Highway 30, Broadalbin, NY 12025.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
