Genevieve M. Stellato, 56, of McNeir Avenue, Amsterdam, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at St. Mary's Healthcare, Amsterdam, New York.

Born on December 27, 1956 in Amsterdam she was the daughter of Paul and Anna Bober Sikora.

Gen was lifelong resident of Amsterdam and was a 1975 graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She attended SUNY Albany and earned a Associates Degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Fulton Montgomery Community College.

She also had a Brokers License in Property and Casualty Insurance, and was a Notary Public. She was a Property and Casualty Insurance manger for Marshall & Sterling in Glenville, NY.

Gen was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Amsterdam.

She is survived by her devoted son, Michael Paul Stellato of Amsterdam,; her brother Paul Anthony Sikora of Perth, NY; her aunt, Maria Pruc of Ohio; niece, Alicia Sikora and nephew, Paul Sikora both of Perth, NY; also several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Amsterdam Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Place, Amsterdam followed at 9:00 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stanislaus Church.

Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Donations may be made in Gen's memory to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in c/o the funeral chapel.
