John Demitraszek, 43, of Tribes Hill, passed away suddenly Tuesday afternoon at St. Mary's Healthcare with his loving wife at his side.
Born in Amsterdam on February 10, 1970, he was the son of the late Stanislaus and Mary Marian Demitraszek.
John graduated from St. Stanislaus Elementary School, Amsterdam High Class of 1988 and HVCC in 1990.
John was a licensed steam fitter plumber working for BPI Piping for several years with Union Local 7.
The most dedicated husband and father, he truly loved spending time with his family along with his dog Lucky. He enjoying their yearly trips to Florida, camping and being involved in his children's activities. He loved golfing and listening to music. John's kind and loving nature was evident especially when he would be available to assist anyone who needed him. Even at his passing, John willed that he become an organ donor. He will be truly missed.
He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus R.C. Church and more recently of Sacred Heart Church in Tribes Hill.
On October 23, 1993 he was united in marriage to the former Kimberley Dado.
John is survived by his loving wife and best friend Kimberley (Dado) Demitraszek; his children Nicholas and Natalie Demitraszek ; siblings Peter (Cindy), Andrew and Paul Demitraszek, Dolores (Mark) Olechowski, Mary (Jeff) Dado and Monica (Gerard) Olander; mother in law Shirley Dado; brothers and sisters in law Timothy (Stacey), Jeffrey (Mary), Gregory and Todd Dado and Jeanne (John) Bishop; and several nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 am at the Sacred Heart Church, Tribes Hill, by Fr. Patrick Gallagher OFM Conv.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Interment to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made for John's children's education. Checks can be made out to Kimberley Demitraszek and mailed to the funeral home office.
